Darlene Hartford has written a series of books for children called "Bats in the Schoolhouse Attic", because in her hometown of Peachland, B.C., that's where they live. A former schoolhouse has been preserved along with its colony of 2,000 bats. Darlene is director of the local chamber's bat education and conservation program; her books are designed to dispel myths about bats in an educational and entertaining way. Her books also include "Benji Bat Wears Glasses".
